A firm based in Kingston and St. Andrew is looking for a Legal Assistant to work in its Legal Department.
Job Description: To provide legal, secretarial and administrative support to litigation attorneys.
Responsibilities include:
Interfacing with clients; drafting legal documents; preparing draft letters; preparing court bundles and organizing Attorney diaries.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of secretarial work experience in a law firm, inclusive of two (2) years work experience in a litigation department particularly in the field of Debt Collections, Recovery of Possession and Personal Injury
- Detailed knowledge of Civil court procedures in the Parish Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal;
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Any one or more of the following qualifications will be accepted:
- Certification in Paralegal Studies
- Legal Secretarial Diploma
- Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Certified Professional Designation
